Compact variety for pots or small gardens
White flowers fade to pale pink in late summer
Hydrangea paniculata are eye-catching flowering shrubs, they are long-lived being tough and hardy. Hydrangea ‘Pinky Winky' is no exception, it is fast-growing but with a compact size and so ideal for small garden situations, such as for training as flowering hedging or in large pots on a patio. The eye-catching 40cm (16") panicles are made up of star-like florets, which first open cream and fade to pink. Height and Spread: 1.5m (4.9).

Water regularly until young hydrangea plants are established. In autumn, apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant taking care not to mound it up against the stem as this may cause it to rot. Leave faded hydrangea flower heads in place until new buds swell in spring. These will help protect the delicate buds from frost damage.
Prune hydrangea in spring. Reduce stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. No other pruning is necessary. However, Hydrangea paniculata will tolerate hard pruning and the removal of the oldest stems to a few buds from ground level if necessary. This will also encourage larger flower heads to be produced.
