This variety of Lilac has two flowering periods, whereas most varieties just flower once for a few weeks. Lilac 'Bloomerang Dark Purple' blooms in spring and early summer, then flowers again in late summer, until the first frosts of autumn. It has panicles of rich purple, highly fragrant flowers that are nectar rich and attract bees and butterflies. With a compact and neat habit, it is a great shrub for a small or medium sized garden. Height and spread: 150cm (59").

Prune lilac bushes in winter or spring by removing any damaged, diseased or misplaced stems before lightly shaping the remaining stems. After pruning, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the shrub.
