This lovely shrub, Lilac ‘Miss Kim’ is deciduous but also has an autumn appeal as the leaves turn to burgundy shades. The Syringa attracts pollinators and also butterflies. It can be used as focal point in a border or grown in a pot. Height: 2.5m (8’). Spread: 2m (6’,6").

Grow lilac plants in rich fertile, well drained, neutral or alkaline soil in full sun. Dwarf Lilac plants may be grown in containers if preferred using a loam based compost such as John Innes No.3.

Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Prune lilac bushes in winter or spring by removing any damaged, diseased or misplaced stems before lightly shaping the remaining stems. After pruning, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the shrub.
