Magnolia ‘Sunrise Beauty’ is a compact, deciduous shrub ideal as a focal feature for a spring border or a large container. Large, creamy-white, goblet-shaped flowers are held erect on bare branches in the spring. Each elegant flower features a distinctive, deep magenta-pink flair arising from the base and tracing a bold line to the outer tip of each petal. An improvement on Magnolia ‘Sunrise’, ‘Sunrise Beauty’ has an even bolder pink flair, making this a unique and distinctive variety to add to your magnolia collection. Height and spread: 1.8m (6').

1 Bare Root Plant (KF5786)

Plant in a sunny or semi shaded position that recieves a minimum of 4-6 hours of sunshine per day and is sheltered from cold winds and hard spring frosts. Suitable for acid soils only that are rich, moist and well-drained. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve the soil prior to planting, mixing it thoroughly and deeply. Magnolia plants establish quicker when their roots are shaded. Following planting, apply a mulch of rotted bark chips, manure or garden compost, taking care not to mound it around the stem of the plant. When growing in a patio container use a blend of ericaceous compost mixed with John Innes No. 3.

Water regularly throughout the growing season until fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted bark chips or garden compost to the base of the plant. Fertilise once a year in the spring with a slow release tree and shrub fertiliser.

Protect from cold winds and hard frosts which can cause foliar damage.

Plants in pots will be at increased risk of the root ball becoming completely frozen and should be moved into a sheltered location, conservatory or cool greenhouse over winter.

Tolerates pruning well. The best time to prune is after blooming. Remove old or diseased wood and trim to shape.

Van Meuwen strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.
