Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

Perfect for creating your own alpine trough or planting up a gravel garden. This collection will be be selected at random from our wide range of hardy alpine and rockery plants. We can't specify exactly which species you will recieve - that would spoil the fun! You can rest assured that they will be 'easy to grow' varieties, all of the highest quatlity. These hardy plants will be supplied in 9cm pots making them ideal for planting straight out into containers, paving crevices, rockeries or planting straight into a gravel garden.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

6 x 9cm potted alpine plants (KA2301)
12 x 9cm potted alpine plants (KB0644)
3 x 9cm potted alpine plants (KB1652)

Although perfectly hardy, these alpine plants are best grown on in cool, sheltered conditions until spring to prevent them rotting in cold, wet soils. Plant out in spring, in a sunny or semi shaded position. Alpine plants thrive in fertile, free draining soils. Incorporate plenty of well rotted compost and some sharp grit if necessary, to improve soil conditions.
Once established, most alpines require little maintenance. However they will appreciate some protection from a cloche during particularly cold, wet winters. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps in spring to maintain plant vigour.
