Trained onto a decorative hoop, you can enjoy this flamboyant tropical climber indoors. Passiflora caerulea on a Hoop is ideal for a sunny windowsill where you can admire up close its spectacular greenish-white flowers adorned with a prominent central stigma and surrounded by a ring of purple, blue and white filaments. The flowers are followed by decorative orange fruits that stand out against a background of glossy, deeply lobed evergreen foliage. Height of hoop: 45cm (17.7in).

Maximum height: 8m (26ft). Spread: 2m (6.5ft). (When grown in the ground).

Grow on a sunny window sill in bright, indirect light. Avoid positioning near cold draughts and radiators. Tie onto support as it grows. Water regularly during the growing season and fertilise with a liquid feed every 2-3 weeks. Reduce watering during the winter.

If desired, this houseplant can be transplanted outside. Plant into any moist, well drained soil. Choose a sunny position that is protected from cold winds in winter. Prior to planting, add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil. When growing passion flower, be sure to provide the twining stems with an appropriate support such as trellis or wires attached to fences and pergolas. Protect from hard frost.
