Three gorgeous passion flower varieties in one pot! Passiflora ‘Tricolor’ includes the pure white ‘Constance Eliott’, the violet ‘Victoria’ and the pale purple Lavender Lady’. This vigorous climbing vine pumps out a continuous succession of multi-coloured flowers from mid-summer to autumn. Despite its exotic looks, Passiflora ‘Tricolor’ is surprisingly easy to grow, quickly covering a south or west-facing sheltered wall with glossy, deeply-lobed, semi-evergreen leaves. The flowers are followed by egg-shaped orange fruit, which although inedible, make an attractive feature. RHS Award of Garden Merit. Maximum height and spread: 4m (13ft).

Plant Passion flower plants into any moist, well drained soil. Choose a sunny position that is protected from cold winds in winter. Prior to planting, add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil. When growing passion flower, be sure to provide the twining stems with an appropriate support such as trellis or wires attached to fences and pergolas.

Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. In autumn, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Pruning Passion flowers is best undertaken in spring. Prune out the oldest stems, and reduce the remaining stems to restrict their vigorous growth to the available space.
