Bring some exotic Asian flavours into your veg plot with this unusual herb. Also known as Shiso in Japan, this relative of mint has a complex flavour profile, with hints of mint, clove, cumin and citrus. Both the leaves and flowers of this popular Asian vegetable can be used in salads, fish dishes, tempura and even cocktails and fruity desserts. Erect stems bear highly aromatic green leaves with red undersides. Cultivated as an annual, it’s an easy and fast-growing herb which is rich in Vitamins A, C and riboflavin. Height 90cm (36”) and spread: 60cm (24”)
