In a number of ways Perovskia 'Blue Spire', a Russian Sage plant, is similar to Lavender. Its foliage is silvery and aromatic, it thrives in the sun and is drought resistant, it has lilac blue flowera on stems, it is loved by bees and butterflies and looks great planted en masse in blocks or lines. The main differences is that whilst Lavender has flowerheads on individual stems, the Perovskia 'Blue Spire' has many flowerheads on one stem, and it is also taller in height, reaching up to 120cm. This makes it an ideal plant to grow behind Lavender in borders or on its own as a superb alternative. It provides colour right through to late summer and is suitable for coastal gardens and exposed sites. The RHS has awarded this plant its Award of Garden Merit. Height: 120cm (48"). Spread: 1m (39").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
