The hardy Philadelphus ‘Manteau d'Hermine' or Mock Orange will relish a prominent position in your garden. The double blooms of this delightful shrub are reminiscent of pom-poms, emitting an almost addictive ‘orange blossom' perfume. The compact nature of this Philadelphus makes it perfect for small gardens.

The Mock Orange will attract all kinds of insects, particularly bees, to its flowers, rich in nectar. Philadelphus is hugely attractive to wildlife and even thrives in coastal conditions. These shrubs are upright, neat and easy to look after. The Philadelphus ‘Manteau d'Hermine' is also the holder of an RHS Award of Garden Merit. Height: 75cm (30"). Spread: 150cm (59").

Flowering Months
Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Philadelphus requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level.
Grow Philadelphus plants in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Mock Orange plants at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.
