This fast-growing, undemanding plant makes a perfect specimen for a hanging basket, forming a curtain of luscious, heart-shaped leaves illuminated with gold and pale green variegation. A native of the South American rainforest, this trailing vine also offers opportunities for creative display by growing up and along interior walls using plant hooks, furniture or picture frames as supports. Perfect for beginners. Height and spread: 50cm (20”).

Philodendron is an adaptable plant, growing happily in average room temperatures of 18C (65F) - 24C (75F). Do not allow temperatures to fall below 12C (55F). A bright to lightly shaded position, well away from direct sunlight is ideal. Avoid positioning this plant close to cold draughts and radiators.

Water Philodendrons regularly to maintain evenly moist compost. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. Philodendron appreciates a humid atmosphere - stand it on a tray filled with pebbles and water. As the water evaporates it will increase humidity around the plant. Misting the foliage daily with a fine spray will also help to improve humidity.
