For years, this delightful plant has been loved for its whorled evergreen foliage. Often the leaves of Pieris Japonica are edged with cream, with the leaf tips turning pink as the year progresses. The flowers appear during spring and are cream-coloured ‘bells'.

The compact nature of The Pieris japonica ‘Little Heath' makes it perfect for patio pots. As a dwarf plant, it grows to a height of just 60cm (24"). It's easy to care for and needs very little pruning. All-in-all, this adorable little shrub is a just perfect for acid borders and patio containers. Height and Spread: 60cm (24").

Plant Pieris in moderately fertile, rich, well drained and acidic soil. Alternatively grow Pieris plants in large patio containers using a mix of ericaceous compost and John Innes No.3. Choose a position in sun or part shade.

Pieris requires little maintenance. After flowering, lightly prune out any dead or damaged growth and trim to maintain a pleasing shape. Whilst your Pieris plants are young, they may require some winter protection.
