Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
With purple and white bi-coloured flowers, Salvia 'Amethyst Lips' is a plant that looks great planted alongside Russian Sage, or Lavender, in a cottage garden border. Alternatively, it can be planted with other Salvia varieties, in the 'Lips' collection, in a border, or patio planter. Nectar rich, it is a good plant for pollinators, and it has scented leaves, that are reminiscent of blackcurrant. The plant has a bushy habit. Although perennial, it is advised that this plant is protected during the winter. Height: 90cm (35"). Spread: 60cm (24").

Flowering Months
Feed and water regularly until fully established. Although perennial, this Salvia will require some winter protection in all but the mildest areas of the UK. If growing it in containers, it can be moved to a cold greenhouse or conservatory over the winter months. Prune lightly in late spring when new growth appears to remove dead stems and maintain a bushy habit.
Pot up salvia plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant salvias outdoors in moist, well drained soil, and situated in a sheltered spot in full sun.
