Pot up salvia plug plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When scarlet sage plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Transplant outdoors in a sheltered position in full sun on any light, well drained soil. Garden Ready plug plants can be planted straight out in the garden provided that there are no forecasts of frost.
Water regularly until salvia plants are fully established. Deadhead faded flowers throughout the summer to encourage more blooms to be produced.
