Its small, silvery leaves cover prickly/thorny stems making it great for security hedging and the yellow flowers which appear in late spring turn into bright orange berries that are packed with vitamin C! Supplied as 60 - 90cm bareroots (24 - 31") Height: 8m (26'). Spread: 8m (26'). Planting Distance: 30cm (12"). (4 plants per metre for a single line hedge).

Water regularly until fully established. Blackthorn require little aftercare. Simply remove any diseased, damaged or crossing shoots to maintain a healthy framework. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plants in spring, taking care not to mound mulch up against the stems.
