If you are looking for an easy to maintain, attractive ground cover plant then Spiraea japonica 'Albiflora' is a great choice. Planted in groups, the Japanese Spiraea will create a cushion of attractive foliage that will suppress weeds and from mid summer it's profusion of cotton wool clusters of white flowers will attract bees and butterflies. As summer ends the plant reveals it glorious autumn shades. As well as planting as groundcover, individual plants look great in containers. The arching branches of this deciduous shrub create a rounded and tidy shape. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 90cm (36").

Spiraea is best grown in a sunny position, in any fertile, moist, well-drained soil.

Prune Spiraea in early spring, before the new leaves develop. Reduce all growth back by about a third to a permanent framework.
