Spiraea japonica 'Double Play Big Bang provides long-lasting colour, from spring right through into the autumn. Emerging foliage is dark burnt orange, gradually transforming to golden yellow and then returning to orange once more for its final autumn display. This colourful little shrub bears panicles of big, bold pink blooms all summer. It’s neat, rounded habit makes it ideal for planting in containers, or near the front in mixed borders. Its flowers attract butterflies, earning this compact shrub a spot in the wildlife garden, too. Height and spread: 90cm (3’).
