Spiraea japonica 'Green and Gold' produces a profusion of flowers from mid to late summer, set against a backdrop of yellow-green foliage. Japanese Spireas are robust deciduous shrubs that deserve a place in every garden. Adored by butterflies and pollinating insects, they’re an excellent choice for the wildlife garden, and their vibrant autumn foliage adds a splash of late season colour. Tough, resilient, and easy to grow, Green and Gold is a superb, low maintenance shrub. Height and spread: 120cm (48").

Spiraea is best grown in a sunny position, in any fertile, moist, well-drained soil.

Prune Spiraea japonica cultivars in early spring, before the new leaves develop. Reduce all growth back by about a third to a permanent framework.
