This formidable variety produces huge pale pink fruits that average 7-9kg each, but with a little encouragement can produce champion squashes up to 27kg in weight and 4ft in length! 'Jumbo Pink Banana' boasts sweet, flavoursome orange flesh and stores well. Reliable and high-yielding even in poor summers, this unusual variety will need plenty of space to ramble, but will reward you with a truly impressive crop. Height: 60cm (24in). Maximum spread: 6m (20ft).

Water squash plants regularly and copiously, around the plants and not over them. Do not allow the soil to dry out as this will impair their development. Hoe between plants regularly to prevent weeds from establishing and reducing air circulation. Once the fruits start to swell, feed fortnightly with a high-potassium fertiliser such as tomato feed. Harvest squash in late summer and autumn, before the first frosts, when the skin has hardened and the fruits start to crack near to the stem. Harvest squash by cutting each fruit from the stem leaving several inches of the stem attached.Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on.
