With an abundance of over-sized flowers, intoxicating fragrance and stunning autumn colour, Syringa patens 'Dream Cloud' offers incredible beauty and charm in a compact form.

In early summer, this Manchurian lilac produces so many flowers that the foliage is almost completely obscured. Clouds of huge, fluffy pink panicles up to 30cm long and 22cm wide seem to float lightly in dense masses. Not only do the flowers create a spectacular show but they also fill the air with a powerful scent. Plant it somewhere beside the house, in a courtyard or by seating where you can linger and enjoy the strong fragrance permeating your entire space and bringing the garden to life with bees and butterflies. Cut a few flowers for vase displays and they will perfume the whole room or site it beneath a window or near to a door and let the fragrance waft into the house. This wonderful lilac offers even more - come autumn, the show continues as nights cool and the foliage adopts rich purple tones extending interest even later into the season. A vigorous hybrid, Syringa patens 'Dream Cloud' also offers more resistance to mildew and other diseases. 

Compact and bushy with a pleasingy rounded habit, this fantastic lilac is perfectly suited to growing in a container in small urban spaces, as a centrepiece in a small border or at the front of a larger one.
