A dense, compact variety that requires almost no pruning, reaching only 80cm high and wide in ten years. It is particularly well suited to growing as a low hedge, creating a dense evergreen boundary that requires little trimming and is not prone to the pests and diseases associated with box. Taxus baccata ‘Funny Jewel’ has a rounded habit, with the ends of the shoots crowded in dense buds. The foliage colour is a beautiful dark green. It is perfect for forming an evergreen backdrop in small gardens, terraces or balconies, suiting container growing or planting in the open border. Height and spread: 80cm (31in).

Grow Yew trees in any well drained, fertile soil. Taxus is versatile and will happily grow on acid or alkaline soils. It will grow thrive in almost any position from full sun to deep shade.

Feed and water regularly until yew trees are fully established.
