Description How to Grow Delivery Reviews
This 'Moneymaker' is a firm favourite tomato plant, not just for the profusion of uniform, medium-sized fruit it produces but because of its unbeatable flavour. Whether grown under glass or in an outdoor vegetable bed, Solanum lycopersicum L. will produce bumper crops of these delicious, healthy orbs throughout the summer. Keen gardeners will know that the half-hardy annual should ideally be planted amongst French marigolds and basil, chives or mint to deter whitefly and aphids respectively. Height: 2m (6'7"). Spread: 50cm (1'8").

  • Place seed, on the surface of a good free-draining, damp, seed compost and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite.
  • Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag and keep at 18-20°C (64-68F) until after germination, which takes 7-14 days. Do not exclude daylight as this helps germination.

  • Harvest tomatoes from August until the first frosts.
  • Tomatoes are packed with antioxidants and are high in vitamins A and C and lycopene, which boost the body’s immune system.
