Viburnum opulus, better known as Geulder Rose is a well loved garden shrub, offering plenty of year round interest. From late spring it is covered with a mass of pale green, pom-pom flower heads that gradually mature to pristine white. The blooms are loved by pollinating insects, making this a great choice for a wildlife area. By autumn, the floiwers are replaced by glossy scarlet berries that attract wild birds to an autumn feast. The small, maple-like leaves turn to rich red and puyrple adding a bright splash of autumn colour. Superb in mixed borders, woodland edges and even coastal locations. The blooms make lovely cut flowers too. Height and spread: 4m (13').

Flowering Months
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season while young shrubs become established. Once established, Viburnum will require little attention. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain the shape of the plant and contain it within its allocated space. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant in spring.
Grow Viburnum plants in a sunny or semi shaded position in any free draining soil.
