Vinca major 'Variegata' is a great choice for low maintenance parts of the garden such a slopes or areas which are difficult to access. It is a groundcover perennial that grows best in full sun, but can cope with a wide range of conditions and soil types. More commonly known as Variegated Greater Periwinkle, it has evergreen, variagated leaves that are dark green with creamy-white edges, and between spring and autumn 5 lobed, violet coloured flowers grow profusely. Height: 45cm (18"). Spread: 75cm (30").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Plant out Vinca major into any moist, well drained soil. Periwinkle is a particularly tough plant and will thrive in any garden position, provided that the soil isn't dry.
Feed and water Vinca plants regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Once established, Vinca require only occasional attention. Pruning Periwinkle is best undertaken in spring when they can be cut back hard to restrict their growth.
