Acer palmatum ‘Royal Garnet ®’ is an exciting addition to the Acer family, noted for its exceptional vigour and freely branching habit. The deeply incised foliage lends this elegant tree a wonderfully light and lacy appearance. The feathery leaves are a beautiful wine red and cascade gracefully from a dense crown that is upright when young, maturing into a rounded, spreading crown. In autumn, the foliage transitions to fiery orange-red tones. Height: 2m (6.5ft). Spread: 3m (10ft).

Grow Acers in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade. It's important to give plants shelter from strong winds which can scorch the leaves.

Water regularly throughout the growing season until acer trees are well established. Protect plants from strong winds. Acers require little pruning other than to maintain their shape. Lightly trim stems if necessary from late autumn to midwinter.
