Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews
The bright cerise-pink flowers of Achillea millefolium 'Cerise Queen' are produced on tall stems held above the aromatic, feathery foliage. ‘Cerise Queen’ is a vigorous variety, requiring little maintenance yet creating an explosion of late summer colour at the back of herbaceous borders. Easy to grow, even on dry poor soils, this is an ideal choice for wildlife gardens as it attracts butterflies and other insects. The vivid range of colours makes yarrow a spectacular choice for cut or dried flowers. Height and spread: 60cm (24").

Culinary information: The leaves of the yarrow can be used cooked or raw. They have a bitter flavour but are good in mixed salads and best used when young. They may also be used as a preservative or flavouring for beer. The flowers and leaves can be made into an aromatic tea. click here.

Grow Achillea in any moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi shade. Achillea dislikes soils that sit wet over winter.
Stake the stems in late spring for support. Cut back the first flush of Achillea flowers to encourage a second flush in late summer. Thereafter, faded Achillea flower stems can be left intact until winter to add interest to autumn borders. Yarrow plants are relatively short lived perennials that will benefit from regular division every 2 or 3 years to maintain their vigour. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps in spring.
