Achillea 'Terracotta' is a superb choice for bright cottage garden borders and wildlife gardens as its nectar rich flowers will help to attract pollinating insects. Yarrow produces flat, terracotta flower heads from June to August that gradually mature to a biscuit yellow colour above ferny, fragrant foliage. This durable and dependable plant thrives on light sandy soils and even in difficult coastal conditions, as well as being great for planting in large swathes among swaying grasses in a prairie style border. Achillea 'Terracotta' is also excellent as a fresh or dried cut flower. Height: 80cm (32"). Spread: 60cm (24").

Grow Achillea in any moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi shade. Achillea dislikes soils that sit wet over winter.
Stake the stems in late spring for support. Cut back the first flush of Achillea flowers to encourage a second flush in late summer. Thereafter, faded Achillea flower stems can be left intact until winter to add interest to autumn borders. Yarrow plants are relatively short lived perennials that will benefit from regular division every 2 or 3 years to maintain their vigour. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps in spring.
