These Winter Aconite bulbs are sold 'in the green' and delivered to you in early to late spring when the plants are growing. They can be planted under trees in dappled shade; in shady borders and in informal areas of grass where their sunny, buttercup-like flowers will delight you from February into March. Plant them in damp, moderately fertile soil and enjoy their low-growing yellow cheer at a time when little else is flowering. Easy to establish, these undemanding perennials will gradually naturalise and spread. All bulbs are grown from cultivated stock. Height: 8cm (3"); Spread: 5cm (2").

Flowering Months
Aconites particularly dislike dry soil in summer so water regularly during the growing season until bulbs are fully established. When growing aconites, it is essential to allow their foliage to die back naturally. Avoid mowing areas of grass where bulbs are naturalised until their foliage has completely died back.
Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten. Choose a position in dappled shade in reliably moist, well drained soil. These bulbs prefer a soil rich in organic matter so add some well rotted manure or compost to the soil. Space them randomly throughout the planting area at a distance of 10cm (4") apart and plant them at a depth of 5cm (2"). For natural looking drifts, gently cast them across the planting area and plant them where they land!
