Recent Agapanthus breeding has brought us Agapanthus 'Bluestorm' which produces more flower stems than any other variety and flowers for much longer! The showy umbels of light blue flowers appear from June through to August on stiff, upright stems which are perfect for cutting. Growing to a maximum height of 30" (75cm), this compact African Blue Lily is perfect for growing in patio containers or borders where it's semi-evergreen, strap-shaped leaves and multitide of flowers adds strong architectural form. Agapanthus are also very drought-tolerant - great for hot dry borders! Height: 75cm (30"). Spread: 50cm (20").

Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural qualities until they become blackened by frost. Border grown plants will benefit from the winter protection of an autumn mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost. Container grown Agapanthus plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter.
Plant Agapanthus in a sunny position in moist, well drained soil. Water well to settle the soil. Alternatively, grow Agapanthus in containers using soil based compost such as John Innes No.3 and position in full sun.
