Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
A new variety with a quick growth habit compared to other African Lilies. Agapanthus 'Poppin' Purple' forms a neat clump of evergreen, linear foliage that adds a pleasing texture to sunny perennial borders. In early summer, upright stems rise stiffly above the leaves, topped with rounded heads of dark violet-purple flowers. This is a repeat blooming variety with a long flowering period. Perfect for patio pots and the front of borders. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Flowering Months
Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.
Grow Agapanthus plants in rich fertile, well drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .
