This magnificent Agapanthus collection will grace your summer garden with elegance and stature. These spectacular Agapanthus flowers are balanced on tall stiff stems, making superb cut flowers, or alternatively forming attractive autumn seed heads if left intact. With large strap-shaped leaves and distinctive flower heads, these impressive hardy perennials are ideal for adding architectural presence to borders and containers.

These exotic blooms make a real statement in sunny borders and patio container displays, returning each summer and getting better every year. The large spherical blooms are also magnificent in cut flower displays and their architectual seed heads continue the display well into the Autumn. Foliage stays green year-round, offering valuable winter ground cover. Hardier than most other modern introductions, Agapanthus Trio requires little upkeep, performing well on the poorest of soils, and in the confines of a patio pot, where good drainage is provided.

  • Collection comprises of:
  • Agapanthus 'Pitchoune White' - Bright white flowerheads rise above the strappy, semi-evergreen foliage over a long period making this a useful choice for patio containers. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 45cm (18").
  • Agapanthus 'Bluestorm' - Masses of soft violet flowers are carried on stiff stems making this a superb cut flower. The strap-like, semi evergreen foliage is resilient and drought resistant - just perfect for filling patio containers or creating low maintenance ground cover in sunny borders. Height: 76cm (30"). Spread: 50cm (20").
  • Agapanthus 'Twister' -  The flowers of Agapanthus 'Twister' are absolutely glorious, with crystal white flutes turning inky blue at the base.  The huge globes of colour appear from mid to late summer, hosted on strong, sturdy stems that need no staking. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 50cm (20").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Grow Agapanthus plants in rich fertile, well drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .
Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.
