Agapanthus are the sort of plant that can bring height and the 'wow factor' to a garden border, either in a traditional cottage garden, or a more contemporary style of garden. The flower 'globes' of Agapanthus 'Twister' are made up of many small, delicate flowers, with pure white flutes that blend to inky blue throats. They sit atop sturdy stems about 60cm (24") in height. This African Lily flowers between July and September and thrives in full sun and partial shade. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 50cm (20"). Supplied in 9cm pot.

Grow Agapanthus plants in rich fertile, well drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .
Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.
