Rekindle fading borders with a flourish of fancy double blooms in late summer! The pale flowers of Anemone 'Frilly Knickers' are flushed violet on the reverse of each petal, just like its parent plant 'Dreaming Swan'. The carefree blooms are borne upon slender stems, above a neat clump of bright green foliage. This new introduction is a compact variety that works well in a patio pot, but positively thrives in sunny or lightly shaded borders. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Pot up Japanese Anemones using free-draining compost, and grow plants on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. Once they are well grown, acclimatise anemones to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting out on moist fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade. Anemone plants dislike wet ground, particularly during winter. If necessary, improve soil conditions by adding plenty of well rotted manure or compost prior to planting.
Feed and water anemones regularly throughout the growing season. Cut back anemone flowers as they fade. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of anemones in spring. Caution: Irritant to skin and eyes. Harmful if eaten.
