This compact Antirrhinum comes to you direct from T&M’s own breeding programme. Dwarf, well-branched plants boast dark, almost black foliage, which makes a dramatic contrast with its cherry red flowers. Spires of Snapdragon blooms are borne throughout the summer, attracting a range of pollinating insects to the garden. Antirrhinum 'Mini Cherry Cola' shows superb resistance to rust, so your display won’t be cut short by disease. With its neat growth and free flowering habit, this new introduction is perfect for filling beds, borders and patio pots. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 25cm (10").

Culinary note: These pretty flowers can be used as garnishes or dressings but can have a bland or sometimes bitter taste. For more details about edible flowers click here.

1 packet (500 antirrhinum seeds) (KB4556)

Sow Antirrhinum seeds indoors or under glass from January to March on the surface of a good quality seed compost and gently firm down. Place the seed tray in a propagator at a temperature of 20-25C (68-77F) or seal inside a clear polythene bag until germination which takes 10 - 21 days. Keep the compost damp but not wet and do not exclude light.

When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 7.5cm (3") pots and grow Snapdragon plants on in cooler conditions. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions over 7 - 10 days before planting outdoors. Plant Snapdragons at a distance of 30cm (12") apart on any light, well drained soil in full sun.

Remove spent flowers regularly to encourage further blooming.
