Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

Campanula medium ‘White’ is better known as Canterbury Bells - a gentle reminder of the old-fashioned cottage garden era. This clump forming biennal blends effortlessly with summer perennials at the front of borders. It bears upright stems of elegant, bell-shaped flowers in summer, gently seeding about to fill gaps and intermingle with other plants. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 30cm (12").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Grow Canterbury bells outdoors in any moist, fertile, well drained, non-acidic soil. Campanula medium will thrive in sun or semi shade, but the dainty bell-flowers will last longer in a slightly shaded position.
Water regularly until Canterbury bells plants are fully established. On exposed sites, support the tall flower stems with garden canes. After flowering, cut back the plants to remove faded Canterbury bells flowers and promote a second flush of blooms. Campanula medium will self-seed if the flower heads are left intact.
