Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
This year, why not bring a touch of tropical glamour to your garden? Canna ‘Tropicanna Gold’ should fit the bill. The sensational ‘statement’ plant features stunning golden flowers, towering majestically above large multi-coloured leaves. Your exotic Canna ‘Tropicana Gold’ will look stunning in a border or in a container on your patio. It will also be a striking feature next to your pond. As you’d expect, this exotic Canna isn’t fully hardy so you’ll need to dig up and store the rhizomes, before re-planting in spring, once all danger of frost has passed. Height: 150cm (60"). Spread: 50cm (20"). Supplied in a 9cm pot.

Culinary information: Canna lily rhizomes can be eaten raw and have a taste similar to water chestnut, although sometimes bitter. They can also be boiled and baked, the same as a potato and have a similar texture and taste. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Flowering Months

1 canna plant in 9cm pot (KA8514)

Gradually acclimatise Canna plants to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before planting them in borders, beds and containers. Grow Cannas in fertile, moist, well drained soil in a sheltered, sunny position.
Feed and water freely throughout the summer and deadhead regularly to encourage more blooms to be produced. In late autumn, cut back the old foliage before lifting the rhizomes and storing them in barely moist peat, in frost free conditions. Rhizomes can be replanted in spring for another fabulous display.
