Delivery Information View Product DescriptionLoading...Description How to Grow More Info DeliveryCrocosmia 'Firestarter' is one of the Crocosmia Firestars Series, that have been specifically bred for their fiery bicolour flowers. It has arching flower stems, with funnel shaped, yellow blooms, each with orange edging, and sword shaped foliage. Whether it's a garden with a cottage, contemporary or Mediterranean theme, they are perfect for a sunny herbaceous border. The plant has a compact habit, so will grow as a larger clump as it matures, rather than spread along the border. Like all Crocosmia it's hardy and low maintenance. Height: 75cm (29"). Spread: 10cm (14").Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Grow Crocosmia in rich fertile, moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi shade. If necessary, improve soils by adding plenty of well rotted manure prior to planting.Crocosmia requires little attention throughout the growing season. Remove old foliage and faded flower stems in autumn and apply a mulch of bark chips or well rotted compost to protect the corms over winter. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Crocosmia in spring to maintain their vigour.Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on.
