Gaillardia aristata 'Arizona Sun' certainly lives up to its name by producing a continuous display of sizeable flower heads in blazing shades of red, orange and yellow. This hardy perennial requires little maintenance and performs well even on poor, dry soils. The spectacular daisy flowers thrive regardless of the weather, persevering well into autumn, and are simply stunning when used as cut flowers for an indoor display. This Blanket Flower is ideal for filling gaps at the front of sunny borders and in containers. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Grow Gaillardia plants in borders and containers on any well drained soil in full sun.

Feed and water occasionally until gaillardia plants are fully established. Deadhead faded Gaillardia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In Late summer, cut back old foliage and flower stems to 15cm (6") to encourage basal growth before the first frosts. In spring, lift and divide overcrowded clumps of gaillardia and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant.
