Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
Geranium himalayense is a particularly useful ground cover plant, as it tolerates shady spots. Its lobed foliage is a pretty backdrop to purple-blue flowers, borne in a main flush during early summer and then sporadically through to the autumn. A final display of vibrant red foliage adds colour to the late season garden. Cranesbills are a stalwart of cottage gardens, and this hardy perennial is ideal for filling gaps in the front of herbaceous borders. Height: 45cm (18"). Spread: 60cm (24").

Choose a sunny or semi shaded position on any well drained soil. Work some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting. Firm Geranium plants into the ground and water well to settle the soil.
Water regularly until fully established. Remove old foliage and faded flower stems throughout the growing season to promote continuous fresh growth. In autumn, cut the foliage back completely. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant in spring. Lift and divide hardy geranium plants every third year to maintain their vigour.
