Hedera helix ‘Kolibri’ is a fast-growing, evergreen climber with cream and green variegated foliage. Its variegated leaves inject brightness and vibrancy into shady areas and make an attractive addition to winter containers. This self-clinging climber is useful for clothing north-facing walls and fences or covering the ground and stabilising banks in dry shade. This wildlife-friendly plant bears greenish-cream flowers in summer that attract pollinators, followed by round, black fruits that are enjoyed by birds. Maximum height and spread: 3m (10ft).

Grow Ivy in any moist, well drained garden soil in a sheltered position, in full sun or partial shade. Ivy will perform especially well on alkaline soils, although plants are also tolerant of a wide range of different soil conditions.

Prune your Ivy plants to fit the space available. Plants can be trimmed at any time, although spring is the best time for renovation pruning, before the new growth starts. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
