This RHS award-winning Heucherella is a good selection for both its patterned foliage and colourful flowers. Heucheralla ‘Tapestry’ has lobed, blue to green leaves adorned with purple veining. From late spring to summer, tall, airy stems support small, bright pink flowers that create wispy veils of colour, brightening shady spots. Excellent in groups drifting along border edges or underplanted around larger plants and shrubs, it associates beautifully with other shade-loving perennials. Great for ground cover. It also works well in containers for shady areas around the house. Height: 25cm (10in). Spread: 30cm (12in).

Heucherella plants dislike soils which are particularly dry or have a tendency to water-logging. Plant them in moist, fertile, well drained soil, adding plenty of compost or well rotted manure to amend heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade.

Feed and water Heucherella plants regularly until they are fully established. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure around the crown of each plant each spring. Lift and divide clumps of Heucherella every 3 years in autumn to maintain vigorous, healthy growth.
