Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

The winner of an RHS Award of Garden Merit, Hypericum olympicum ‘Citrinum’ is a far cry from the large hypericum shrubs commonly used for hedging. This elegant variety forms a small, rounded mound of tiny greyish-green leaves, which becomes smothered with very pale lemon-yellow blooms in summer. Each flower produces an explosion of extravagant yellow stamens, giving a starry effect. This dwarf hypericum is ideal for gravel gardens, rockeries and the front of dry, sunny borders. Like most hypericums this semi-evergreen variety is low maintenance, requiring just a light trim once flowering has finished. Height and Spread: 30cm (12in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Plant St. John’s Wort in any garden soil and in a position that is sheltered from cold winds. Hypericum is a versatile plant coping well in poor, dry soils and even thriving in deep shade.
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season while young Hypericums plants become established. Mature plants require little attention throughout the growing season. After flowering, lightly prune evergreen Hypericum plants to remove any damaged or dead growth and maintain a pleasing shape.
