A lovely duo of Iris reticulata varieties; 'Katharine's Gold' and 'Katharine Hodgkin'. This elegant combination makes a lovely display from late winter into early spring. Plant them in borders alongside crocus and other spring bulbs, or enjoy their pale blooms in patio containers and rockeries. Over the years they will multiply to form pleasing colonies that increase year after year. Height: 15cm (6”). Spread: 10cm (4”).

Caution: Irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten. Iris reticulata bulbs should be planted in late Autumn at a depth of approximately twice their own height. Choose a position in full sun in moist, free draining soil. To create a natural effect, cast the bulbs across the area and plant them where they land. Alternatively, plant bulbs in deep containers of loam based compost such as John Innes No. 2 and grow on in a greenhouse or on a cool sunny windowsill for an early indoor display.
When growing dwarf iris, allow their foliage to die back naturally before removing it in order to feed the bulb for the following spring. Divide overcrowded clumps of dwarf iris bulbs in autumn. Keep pots of iris reticulata just moist during their dormant period and gradually increase watering as growth begins.
