Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews
Magnolia soulangeana is a graceful small tree or large shrub, well loved for its profusion of large, goblet shaped flowers, held upright on the branches. The stunning white-pink,  fragrant flowers, flushed dark pink at the base, are borne in mid-spring and are a sight to behold! Perfect for small gardens and requiring little pruning, this Saucer Magnolia is ideal for low maintenance gardens, shrub borders and cottage gardens, pairing superbly with spring bulbs and shrubs. Height and spread: 6m (20').

Culinary information: The young flowers, once separated, can be pickled and then used either on their own as a treat or in salads. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Water regularly throughout the growing season until young Magnolia plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant. Magnolias require little pruning other than to maintain their shape and remove damaged stems
Choose a sunny or semi shaded position that is protected from cold winds and hard spring frosts. Magnolias prefer a moist, well drained acid to neutral soil that is high in organic matter. If you don't have acid soil, incorporate plenty of ericaceous compost into your border prior to planting.
