This pretty deciduous grass is perfect for bringing texture and late summer interest to the garden. With a neat, clump forming habit, it boasts slender green foliage that arches gently at the tips. From July onwards the airy, feathery seed heads cast a silvery halo that sways gently in the breeze. Plant Pennisetum orientale 'Dance with Me' en masse for elegant ground cover, or dot it among herbaceous borders where it mingles beautifully with summer perennials. Height: 45cm (18"). Spread: 30cm (12").

Plant Fountain Grass into garden borders in any fertile, light, well drained garden soil, in full sun.

Take care not to overwater as Pennisetum plants may rot in over-wet soils. Although plants are hardy, they will benefit from the added protection of a dry mulch of bark or straw to protect the crown of the plant over the winter. Once you have enjoyed the autumn and winter interest of this plant, you should cut back any dead foliage and faded flowers in the spring.
