The colourful foliage of Pennisetum 'Fireworks' is sure to make an impact in any garden display. Vibrant stripes of red, pink and green emerge before maturing to a rich shade of burgundy, providing a wide spectrum of colour. From mid-summer to autumn, arching purple flower spikes rise in a spectacular architectural display. The fluffy seedheads can be also cut to make elegant dried flowers. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 45cm (18"). Supplied as 40mm plug plants.

Pot up plugs and grow them on in warm frost free conditions for transplanting into borders later on. Water sparingly until plugs are fully rooted into their containers. When plug plants are well grown acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Plant fountain grass in any moist well drained soil in full sun.

Feed and water regularly until fully established.In autumn, apply a dry mulch such as bark or straw to protect the plant over winter. In spring, remove dead foliage and lift and divide clumps every third year to maintain their vigour.
