Oriental Poppies make a wonderful addition to summer borders. These clump forming perennials creating neat rosettes of deeply-cut leaves covered with coarse hairs, bringing fabulous texture to borders, even before the blooms appear. Their large satiny flowers provide a splash of colour in summer, followed by attractive rounded seed heads. Poppy ‘Oriental Collection’ combines 4 popular varieties. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 60cm (24").

  • Collection comprises:
  • Papaver ‘Royal Wedding' – Large flowers with the purest white, tissue-paper petals and black blotches at the centre.
  • Papaver ‘Beauty of Livermere’ - Petals are rich crimson red, with a splash of black in the centre.
  • Papaver ‘Victoria Louise’ – Tall, bristled stems topped with the ruffled, crepe paper petals around a deep, dark centre.
  • Papaver ‘Queen Alexander’ – Satin, coral pink blooms with dark blotches make a showy display.

Plant Poppies in a sunny position in moist, well drained soil, working some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting.
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season until plants are fully established. Leave faded flowers in place; the dried seed heads make an attractive late summer feature, and birds will appreciate the seeds as food. In autumn, remove old foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on.
