Heavily layered, old fashioned blooms are produced on well branched plants in summer. Rose 'White Fairy' is a paler version of the well known Polyantha variety Rose 'The Fairy'. The elegant blooms stand out nicely from its dark, glossy foliage, and make lovely cut flowers. A delightful addition to sunny borders and rose gardens. Height: 75cm (30"). Spread: 100cm (39").

Culinary information: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Rosehips and petals can be used in making syrups and the petals will add flavour to cold drinks or fruit dishes. For more details about edible flowers click here.

When growing roses, choose a position in fertile well drained soil in full sun. Roses are greedy plants so add a small handful of granular fertiliser and mix some well rotted manure or compost to the soil prior to planting.
Feed and water rose plants regularly and deadhead faded flowers. When growing roses it is necessary to remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. In winter, begin pruning Polyantha roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged branches. Then reduce the stems to 20cm (10") above ground level. Side shoots should be reduced to two buds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant after pruning.
