Scabiosa columbaria 'Misty Butterflies' is a long-flowering and versatile dwarf scabious that really is a magnet for butterflies and other pollinators. Drought tolerant once established, this lovely hardy perennial is at home in gravel gardens, containers and along the edge of borders, producing mauve-lilac pincushion flowers from June all the way through to September. Flowering will be prolonged by regular deadheading. Height: 25cm (10in). Spread: 20cm (8in).

Grow Scabious plants in a sunny position on fertile, well drained, neutral to alkaline soil that is not excessively wet in winter.
