Clouds of soft pink pincushion flowers with frilly petals dance on wiry stems above neat mounds of finely divided foliage. The flowers on Scabiosa columbaria ‘Pink Mist’ just keep coming and coming for months on end, offering a summer long display that spills over into autumn. Attracting a host of pollinators, it suits wildlife-friendly gardens, and its compact form is great for running along border edges, through gravel gardens or planting in low troughs and containers. Scabiosa ‘Pink Mist’ is also highly recommended for the cutting garden – its generous flowers provide long-lasting vase displays. Ultimate height and spread: 40cm (16in).

Grow Scabious plants in a sunny position on fertile, well drained, neutral to alkaline soil that is not excessively wet in winter.

Water scabious plants until they are fully established. Deadhead faded scabious flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps in spring.
